Sir
I have taken Robert Richards and I
will send him down this day with a
Constable - he keeps a beer shop between
Newbridge and Abercarne. On Sunday night
Nov[embe]r 3rd Evan Jenkins and myself did pass
his house about eight o clock and his house
was crowded full of people - and likewise
the road before it when myself and Evan Jenkins
did go through the crowd one of the Men said
there is Evan Jenkins and another said no it
is not because that Man have got a Cloak and
Evan Jenkins have got no cloak. Robert
Richards did keep a Chartist lodge in his house
and I believe we will be able to ascertain between
this and Tuesday next that John Frost was in
House on Sunday night Nov[embe]r 3rd last. Please to keep
him in Custody until Tuesday when I will come
down and bring as much evidence as possibly
Page 2:
I can against him. I have instructed the
Constable to give him in charge to Mr. Hopkins
the police man, please to write a note per bearer to
Hopkins to inform him of his coming and for
what charge and if you do want any more
evidence down please write per bearer. I can
bring them down onTuesday with me.
