Made In Tredegar presents a series of short films focusing in some of the iconic buildings in Blaenau Gwent. From Inns and Taverns, to places of Worship, Industrial production and Social Gatherings. Working with the Troedrhiwgwair Trust, we are pleased to bring you the first programme in a series of three on this remarkable village.
The village of Troedrhiwgwair, was once a thriving community on the side of the mountain below Tredegar. With over 96 houses, churches, pub, post office and more, the community looked set to be around for all time. Sadly, fears that the mountain behind the village would move, the local council insisted that residents move out so the village could be raised to the ground. This is the story of those who fought to stay in their homes.
