Story of the forest - exhibition by Aberystwyth University Students inspired by the Unlocking Our Sound Heritage Project 2018-2021
The Story of the Forest was a project by the Forestry Commission Wales to record the oral history of people involved in the early years of the Forestry Commission's activities in Wales, including building roads, ploughing, planting, blasting, and other activities in the forests of Wales. The interviews were conducted as part of the Heritage Lottery Fund project from 2002-2003. The interviewees were selected by speaking to lately retired Forestry Commission workers and the list grew from discussions with interviewees. As part of the Unlocking Our Sound Heritage project (UOSH) MA Archive Administration Students from Aberystwyth University, used the interviews as inspiration to create this on-line exhibition.
