Description
By the end of the nineteenth century, Llandeilo had its fair share of performance venues, such as the chapels, the Civic Hall (or Drill Hall / Victoria Hall), Market Hall, and St Teilo's Church. These hosted countless concerts, fundraisers, and eisteddfodau, which drew audiences from far and wide. At one time, several eisteddfodau were held in the town each year, such as the 'Semi-National Eisteddfod', the children's eisteddfod, and chapel eisteddfodau, such as this example. Dyfnallt led the proceedings and adjudicated some competitions. The President of the day was The Right Honourable Lord Dinefwr (Dynevor). Competitions included a solo on the "Mouth Organ"!
