Description
A large photograph showing a number of police officers of the Glamorgan Constabulary, outside Penarth Police Station, Windsor Road, Penarth.
Interestingly, they are all carrying side-arm's. The senior officer bottom left has a straight sword and the other men have hangers / cutlasses.
The date of the photograph or the event are unknown. I would suggest that it is very early 20th century / Edwardian. There is a distinct lack of medals, which to me, suggests it dating to pre - WW1.
One officer (centre at the back) is wearing a pair of medals.....which could possibly be for service in pre WW1 campaigns.
