Description
Llewelyn Hughes is standing to the right of the young teacher, and his brother, Hugh, is infront of the headmaster, Mr W.G. Powell from South Wales, and their other brother, Howell, is the second from the right in the front row. Alice (daughter of Alice Jones, sister of Lewis Andrew Jones, of the shop) is the one with the long hair in the back. William Arthur Davies is infront of Alice and to his right is Abel Gwilym from Bryn Pwn, who later lived in Beaver Grove, Betws y Coed. Nancy Llewelyn, from Plas yn Rhos, Capel Garmon, is to the right of the older female teacher. Catrin Elin is the name of the teacher sitting down.
The picture was taken on prize day, 1916, when my grandfather received a copy of "A Brother's Ransom" (written by Alice Lang) "for good attendance".
