Description

Click on image to enlarge and compare the two photographs from c.1900 and 2011.
Hope Street, Wrexham, looking towards St Giles church. The first photograph shows shoppers and an early car - can anyone identify the make? The second photograph shows the changes to the street, including pedestrianisation and modernisation of shops. The 4-storey building with the cupola roof, at the end of the street, is the TSB bank built in 1896-9 by J. H. Swanson of Wrexham.
