John Roberts was my great grandfather. He was born in Bonwm, Corwen and his fath died when John was about 4 years old. The family moved to Froncysyllte.John became a miner and learned to read and write in his spare time. He was a member of the baptist church in Fron and played a large part in the life of the area. He believed that he owed a debt to the church he could never repay. I wish I had known him. Linda Roberts
