Description

This is one of the first Heligoland traps constructed in the UK on Skokholm. It is in the valley just above the well and was built in 1930 with a wooden frame and wire netting. Ronald Lockley, a pioneering naturalist who held the lease of the island in the 1930's built the first trap in the cottage garden on the island.
