Gwyneth Jones

Amongst the interviewee's earliest memories of television is a recollection of watching 'Review of the Year' on New Year's Eve at a friend's house on a small 12" screen with about a dozen other people. She says royal weddings have made the greatest impression on her. Watched the Coronation in Chester, remembers it was very exciting to see the Queen, saw street parties on the way home. Watched some reports from Tryweryn on television but it was local debate that made the greatest impression. She feels that the coverage from Aberfan was sensitive and showed the impact on the community there. She wasn't aware of objections to the Investiture, watched the ceremony and felt proud.Followed the Devolution debates and was interested, always stays up for results and enjoys late night debates. The interviewee watched coverage of the Miners Strike and did see the miners' point of view, but also remembers the violence and thinking the government had valid points too. Thinks Wrexham was more aware of dangers of mining because of the Gresford disaster.
