The interviewee first saw a television in the window of T.E. Roberts' shop in Coed-poeth. She watched the Coronation at a friend's house, thought it was a bit boring but she remembers the Queen of Tonga. Aberfan affected the interviewee the most, she remembers the children's funerals on television. She watched parts of the Investiture but didn't agree completely with the event. She thought that there was too much broadcasting. The interviewee was not really interested in the 1979 Referendum, and did not think that Wales was ready. But she says that she was more interested by 1997. They had to make a special effort to receive S4C; the signal did not reach them. They did without it at the beginning but then sports programmes persuaded them to get it. She says that both sides were to blame during the Miners' Strike, but television did not show the miners fairly or moderately either.
