Description

Grave in memory of Elizabeth Williams in area B at St John's church, Ysbyty Cynfyn (B49). See plan for area B for the grave's location in the graveyard.

Inscription B49: Sacred/ To the Memory of/ ELIZABETH WILLIAMS,/ Wife of LEWIS WILLIAMS,/ of Penrhiw, in this Parish,/ who departed this life/ December 16th 1853,/ AGED 61 YEARS./ Both young and old that pass me by/ As you are now so once was I/ As I am now so must you be/ Therefore prepare to follow me.

Description: The word SACRED has an elaborate design around it and Penrhiw in a italic type script. Headstone and front of chest tomb is being pushed aside by the yew tree.

This grave was photographed as part of a Graveyard Survey carried out with the help of volunteers in 2013.
