Rev. William Evans, who took part in this service, was the Minister at the English Congregational Church in Bridgend at the time. He had been there since 1925, and had also been there from 1909 to 1917. He had become the Archdruid of Wales in 1947, and would preside over the National Eisteddfod in Bridgend in the summer of 1948.
