Description

Hydrogen filled ballon at anchor near the Pembroke Dock Gas Works, 1906. This design was known as the Charlière hydrogen balloon. With its wicker gondola, netting, and valve-and-ballast system, it was the definitive form of the hydrogen balloon for 200 years.
