The article reads:
A month of silence for chatterbox
CHATTERBOX grandmother Lynda Summers has just completed one of the biggest challenges of her life.
The 39-year-old barmaid has managed to stay silent for an entire month during her working hours.
And Linda even managed to stay mum at work about the birth of her first grandchild, Luke.
“It was surprisingly easy really,” she said. “I've done sponsored silences before, although the longest period has been a week.”
Lynda, of Stockland Street, Grangetown, decided to take her vow of silence to raise money for the Macmillan Nurses Appeal and local pensioners.
Lynda had no problems carrying on with her job at the Grange Hotel, Penarth Road, and her efforts raised £452.70.
Julia Horton, Macmillan's South Wales appeal co-ordinator, said: “To stay silent for a month is a real one off. It's marvellous.”
