Letter from Maria das Dores Florinal to her sister, in which she expresses how much she misses her, and how she wishes to see her in January. She shares the news that Coronal Joaquim Pedro Soares asked the General to come with him to the capital of Corrientes to guard a deposit of armament and uniforms, thus exempting him from the war.

My dear sister

As I have occasion of bearer for that place I don't want to stop giving news from us, that even doing it has been good thanks to God, …I wish that you and your family have been enjoying perfect health …, I wish my sister I was very sad in knowing that you will be moving for so far away I have intentions of visiting you in January and I don't know if until then you will be there when you write tell me if you are still there in January so I can go give you a tight hug: the news we had from Quinote were that Colonel Joaquim Pedro Soares required from the General that he would go with him to the capital of Corrientes, to take care of a deposit of armament and uniforms to which we are very happy for him to stay exempt from war, and daddy marched to the Acumpcao. Accept recommendations from mommy and granny Antonia and everyone in this house of yours, and the same you will give to brother Felippe and to D. Como tenho occaziao de portador para esse lugar, nao quero deixar de dar noticias nossas, que athe a o fazer desta ten sido boa gracas a deos, pois o mes dezejo que tu e a tua familia tem gozado per feita sauude freq,m dezejo Minha Ir man eu fiquei muito triste em saber que vaiste mudar para tao longe e eu tenho tencoes de hir te vizitar he em Janeiro e nao sei se ate la tu estaras ahi quan do escrever-me manda-me dizer se in da estais ahi em Janeiro para eu ir te dar um apertado abraco;As noticia[s que] te vimos do Quinote he que o Coronel Joa quim Pedro Soares requereu do Gene ral para elle hir como elle para a capital de Corrientes, tomar conta de hum depo zito de armamentos e fardamento a qual estamos bastante content para elle ficar isento da Guerra, e o papai marcou para a Acumpcao. aceita recomendacoes da mamai e a vovo Antonia e toodos dest[a] tua caza e o mesmo daras ao Mano Felippe e a D.
