Description
Volunteer Emergency Service, Glamorganshire County internal memo for all operators to attend a meeting on the 26th January 1968 at the Control Centre.
Handwritten annotations from Robert Davies, VCS's Founder and Honorary President, added in 2015, about VEST, Voluntary Emergency Services Transport.
Voluntary Emergency Services Transport (VEST) was set up in 1971 to deliver coal and wood to the housebound during fuel shortages. Today it is known as VEST Community Transport and provides transport for individuals residing in the Vale of Glamorgan and Cardiff who are unable to use regular transport. This service enables hundreds of people to enjoy local trips for shopping and leisure.
