Description

Slade is a small village situated to the east of Oxwich on the Gower peninsula. The beach is still only accessible on foot, across the fields at high tide, or along the beach at low tide. Its relative inaccessibility made a favourite landing for smugglers in days gone by, although submerged rocks could prove hazardous, as the Norwegian ship 'Mercar' had discovered.
