Description
The Post Office, Brynamman
Contributed by Suzanne Kelly of New South Wales, Australia. (June 2003).
"At the beginning of 1866, the first Post Office came to Brynamman, and it was known as the Brynamman Post Office. This removed all doubts about the name of the place, Gwterfawr being superseded by Brynamman............. first opened in Jeffrey Watkin's house, but he died later the same year and the Post Office moved to Station Rd, to a house opposite the old Co-operative shop ........ at present (1967) there are post offices at Upper and Lower Brynamman. (History of Pontardawe & District, J Henry Davies 1967).
