Description

An interim report on the carved slates of the Ogwen valley. The valley was home to the mighty Penrhyn Quarry, one of the largest in the world. Carving slate was particularly difficult, as the stone splinters easily, and so these carvings reveal a skill and patience not well known outside of the immediate area.
