Description

On 22 January 1879, a Zulu army of 25,000 warriors attacked the British camp at Isandhlwana; some 1,500 British and Colonial soldiers were killed. The 24th Regiment from Brecon lost over 600 men. This brass side drum was recovered from the battlefield by a British burial party. No drummer survived the action that day.
