This is a copy of an original photograph that British Army Veteran Dave Tomlinson possesses. The photograph shows a group of British BAOR Soldiers climbing high mountains in the German Alps. This short expedition shows soldiers traversing a cliff face, using fixed metal rods that German Climbers had fixed earlier in the season on the Zugspitze mountain, a 2.962 meter giant. David was part of this expedition and it is believed the photograph dates to the early 1980s. This is a copy of an original photograph that British Army Veteran Dave Tomlinson possesses. David served for ten years as a foot guard in the regiment and undertook many ceremonial duties. He qualified as a Drill instructor, training and parading Guardsmen at high profile events in London and Windsor.
