Brian John

Born in Carmarthen in 1940 and brought up in Haverfordwest. Attended Haverfordwest Grammar School and Jesus College Oxford, where he completed a doctorate on the Ice Age in Pembrokeshire. Worked for British Antarctic Survey and then for 11 years as Lecturer in Geography in Durham University. Moved to Newport in Pembrokeshire vin 1976 to pursue a career in writing and publishing. Founder of Eco Centre Wales which operated as a successful environmental charity for 35 years, 1980 - 2015. Author and publisher of the best-selling"Angel Mountain" saga and many other books about Wales. Working closely with local organizations to promote "Martha Morgan Country" -- a literary tourism project. Published output -- about 90 books on a wide variety of topics, including The Ice Age, geomorphology, local history and fiction titles. Greatly involved in the ongoing debate about the transport of the bluestones -- his views are contained in the book "The Stonehenge Bluestones". Currently working to bring the Angel Mountain saga to the TV screen as a costume drama.
