About
Situated just over the bridge in Commercial Street, Newtown Textile Museum is housed in a former hand loom weaving factory of the 1830s which also housed workers and their families on its lower floors. The museum has recreated room displays, exhibits of looms and spinning wheels, along with displays telling the story of the growth of Newtown as 'The Leeds of Wales', as well as the related industries and influential local people such as Pryce Jones.
